Building in a city presents opportunities and challenges. In order to create a secure comfortable environment the inhabitants must be able to monitor their environment and must want to linger. Over the past 15 years Solid has work within the city to create spaces that simultaneously links with public space and provides personal privacy and security that would leave us inclined to stay in that space.

We feel fortunate to have had the breadth of experiences that has allowed us to design everything from a 150 s.f. food kiosks to a midsize hotel at 96,000 s.f. Our omnivorous attitude has allowed us to participate in the design of many different building types, which has in turn made us adept at learning the parameters of new building types. To us every design project is both an opportunity to learn about the requirements and teach about the potential of the architectural form.
