The Golden residence was designed to capture the 270 degrees of view seen from this heavily sloping site. The skin of the building is cor-ten steel to provide a deep earthy color that will rise out of a bluff at the base of an idyllic western butte. The house is split in plan and section at the entry. The south side of the building houses public space and the north portion of the building houses an extensive master suite. The kitchen peels away from the mass of the house to capture the morning sun. The split point in the plan frames a keyhole view of the butte behind between two adjoining houses.
